Amazon-Owned Whole Food Ready To Start Accepting Crypto Along With Bitcoin

With the price spike in the bitcoin space and the technology advancing to reach the mainstream, the bull rush in crypto adoption is back on track. And as a result the lending cryptocurrency (bitcoin) has boomed, several good news and rumours have begun to flood the market.

After the post on telegram from ‘patron of the moon’, eBay announced the support to crypto adoption, now whole food, owned by the global retail giant Amazon has lent its support to the crypto space.

According to a new report by fortune, Amazon’s whole food will start accepting bitcoin and 3 other cryptos too as a payment method into its business. The mind-blowing retail initiative was put with the help of the deal between Flexa, a payment startup and Gemini, the crypto exchange launch by the twin, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. “It works as a piggybacking on the digital scanners that many big retailers use to accept phone-based payments for their apps and from digital wallets like Apple pay,” quotes fortunes author Jeff John.

Under this development, the user only needs to download app named as Spend through which they can purchase anything from the whole food using cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash and Gemini Dollar (GUSD).

Here it is no surprise how Gemini dollar which is a stable coin is added to the app for support, as the development was all made possible with the deal with Gemini. Where, the GUSD being a stable coin will be used to introduce stability in the crypto space, given the volatility of other crypto’s supported on the platform.

Tyler Winklevoss also said that “the idea of living on crypto is now a reality. You can now do it. For the consumer, it amounts to being crypto conscious. It’s like being green.”

With the partnership of Flexa, Gemini and retailers like whole food, the market is waiting for the long-awaited announcement from the e-commerce behemoth, Amazon to hop their existing infrastructure into the crypto space.

Whole Food is not only the single retailer on the Flexi network, but the initiative is also extended over other retail merchants including Crate and barrel and Nordstrom who will accept bitcoin and other forms of cryptocurrency at their retail store.
